Destination Handmade – A Case Study

Destination Handmade is a fantastic creative business primarily listed on Etsy. The main products are passport covers, luggage tags, and travel accessories for inspired travel. This wonderful store has been on Etsy since 2009, and all items are handmade by shop owner Jamie.

Destination Handmade was a client of Rianna’s as the owner of Pancake Digital Solutions from November 2019 through Summer 2020.

Background

Through a mutual connection, Jamie of Destination Handmade was introduced to Rianna of Pancake Digital Solutions in Fall of 2019. Jamie had been doing quite well on Etsy and was even featured in a BuzzFeed article, and was now looking for help with Facebook and Instagram posting and advertising.

Before

Destination Handmade had been doing well on Etsy, but Jamie knew more could be done with the social media accounts.

After

With a few months of organic posting on Facebook and Instagram supported with a simple Facebook ads strategy, the results have started rolling in!

“The pill case sales are going very well. January sales were double over the previous year. My conversion rate went from 1.6 to 2.8.”

Future Steps

Based on this success, the posting strategy will continue with some video and slideshow ads being the most successful. We will continue posting fun travel photos, product videos, and sharing one of the many feature articles the business has been in!

This has been a wonderful project to work with a fun creative business and a wonderful business owner. Having a shop on Etsy really can work well, especially when partnered with a strong social media strategy.
